Our Wildest Dream
Even after 25 years of working in China, I was amazed at what happened on my recent trip to Beijing. A team I was part of from Christ Community Church in Omaha, Neb., including senior pastor Mark Ashton and international pastor Ian Vickers, met with many high officials, and an agreement was reached to open a community center in Beijing.
In the initial plan, the center will be located in one of the Olympic stadiums and include college courses taught by Crown, a health clinic and a Christian Leadership Development Center. After these discussions, I met with a business leader outside of Shanghai. He requested that Crown help them develop a Christian Leadership Development Center at their university as well. This center would enable Crown to train students for four years in the principles of Christian leadership. Upon graduation, these students would join this business leader’s firm, which has 1,000 employees and sales in 100 countries. The man I spoke with, the CEO, said that his company even has a church on their campus that seats 2,000. In my wildest dreams, I would not have imagined that these opportunities would be available in China. Please pray that God would use Crown College to touch one billion people in 100 countries.
